Low prices

In the ’90′s, expanding conglomerate ownership triggered an increase in profits-first business practices among the majors, which have continued to this day in the form of aggressive annual price hikes. Single volumes costing over $200 are now common throughout the industry.

We prefer efficiency over price increases, and that choice has resulted in the vast majority of our single volumes remaining at $99 and our two-volume sets at $129. We hope to continue those price points for many more years.

We like to reach a live and helpful voice when we have a customer problem, and believe that should always be the case when you call James during business hours.

As a result, James has no phone maze to wade through, and our knowledgeable customer service people are empowered to solve problems without restriction.
 

James Publishing’s Kids

For over 10 years we have devoted a portion of our receipts to helping young people around the globe through a foundation called James Publishing’s Kids.

 

When helping young people in other countries, we generally work with local partners.  With them we have created a school for orphans in Kabul, drilled water wells for villages in Indonesia, built a group home for abandoned and abused children in the Philippines, and provided tuition donations to young women in Kenya.

In the U.S. we work directly with recipients, who are usually students in need.  We have provided 4-year college scholarships to high-performing inner-city high schoolers, donated books to a local elementary school for disadvantaged children, given partial scholarships to high-achieving engineering students at UC Irvine, and written and published a college planner for California high school students.

We thank our customers for their decades of support as we follow this evolving and enjoyable path of service to them and others.
